When Jason joined our team, he didn't just improve our development practices, he changed how we thought about building software.
He has a rare ability to step back, see the bigger picture, and introduce practical improvements that make everyone's work better. He reformed our deployment process, established meaningful engineering metrics that gave us real visibility into the health of our Development and Data teams, and led the technical work behind our Virtual Agent proof of concept, creating the dashboards and reporting that kept leadership informed every step of the way.
One of the things I admired most was his commitment to growing people, not just products. Jason ushered AI-assisted development, by designing a thoughtful learning path for our engineers. He authored an AI usage policy before our organization even had one, partnered with Pluralsight to create structured coursework and assessments, and established a program where developers earned GitHub Copilot access by demonstrating proficiency. He didn't just introduce a new tool, he built confidence and capability across the team.
Jason also challenged us to think differently. He consistently encouraged us to move beyond reacting to today's problem and instead ask better questions, identify patterns, and solve the right problems. I know I'm a better leader because of those conversations.
Beyond his technical expertise, Jason is confident without ego, practical without cutting corners, transparent in the best possible way, and genuinely transformative in how he approaches leadership and engineering. He's the kind of person who quietly leaves every team stronger than he found it.
The circumstances of this job market mean some exceptional people are unexpectedly available. Jason is one of them. Any organization looking to modernize engineering practices, elevate its teams, and thoughtfully embrace AI would be fortunate to have him.
(And if you're lucky, you'll probably learn a few things from him too—I certainly did.)
About Jason Rundell
I'm an engineering leader and full-stack architect who joins organizations at inflection points — where chaos needs order, and order needs questioning. Over 20+ years I've scaled teams, modernized platforms, and built the systems and standards that let engineering orgs ship with confidence.
The work follows a pattern: I walk into an organization, identify what's slowing them down, and build the fix. That's looked like establishing AI governance frameworks for enterprise tooling adoption, architecting QA platforms from zero, launching unit-testing cultures where none existed, and building multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure that turns weeks-long product launches into days. I've scaled engineering teams through hypergrowth, guided orgs through acquisitions, and cut release defect rates by introducing end-to-end ownership of the delivery pipeline.
I run Infinite Source, where I take on fractional leadership and architecture engagements — helping startups and scale-ups in MarTech, FinTech, and AI tooling establish the engineering culture, delivery pipelines, and quality gates they need to grow. I also build production software: AI-powered tools, headless commerce platforms, and developer experience infrastructure.
My journey started in a high school library in 1997 discovering GeoCities. Since then I've shipped work across every era of the web — iframes, Flash, jQuery Mobile, WordPress multisites, React design systems, Jamstack, and now agentic AI. The common thread isn't a stack — it's an instinct to find what's broken or inefficient and build something better.
I'm not a status-quo maintainer. I'm an improver. If your team is at an inflection point and needs someone who asks "why" before building "what," let's talk.

I had the privilege of working with Jason during an internship as a Junior Web Developer at Bitbuy. His approach to leadership is a rare blend of encouragement and empowerment. For someone like me who was just starting in the industry, Jason recognized my strengths and weaknesses, and provided me with invaluable guidance and incredible patience. Despite being in a fast-moving tech company, he made it possible for me to learn and grow at a steady and controllable pace. His commitment to creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment earned the respect of myself and all the other co-workers. His technical expertise, empathy, and dedication to both collective and individual growth made him an exceptional leader and a driving force for innovation. My time working with him was, undoubtedly, the perfect start to my career.
Jason is an extremely detail-oriented person who was an absolute pleasure to work with. He always provides creative ideas on how things can be completed more efficiently and effectively. Jason is a great team player and is never afraid to lend a helping hand in any task or request. His excellent knowledge in his field, complemented with his strong work ethic would be an asset to any company!
I found him very detailed and extremely helpful. He listened to my needs as a client and what I wanted for the site and delivered it on time and in budget.
Jason is a stand-out technical lead in the sense that he thoroughly understands the technologies being used and can communicate it effectively without being overly technical. On top of this, Jason cares deeply about the members on his team and is always encouraging them to reach for the stars.
I had no previous knowledge working with automated testing in the past, but told Jason I wanted to learn it. Jason onboarded me to Cypress, worked with me until I understood it, then we begun building out a full end-to-end testing process that allowed us to continuously ship high quality code into production.
If you're looking for a strong technical lead who can communicate effectively and lead projects to successful conclusions, Jason is a perfect fit.
Jason has played a pivotal role in our engineering team at Bitbuy. He's a great person to work with, a tremendous teammate you can always rely on, and he is always up for a challenge.
Not only is he a talented and knowledgeable engineer, he also has an incredible work ethic, he's very organized, and he's never afraid to share his opinion to help push the team towards the best outcomes.
He's also gone above and beyond to help manage, mentor, and grow our frontend team, and I couldn't be more proud of what he's accomplished so far (a lot).
It's a privilege working with Jason, and I look forward to doing more great things together!
Jason brings a creativity to technology rarely seen in many developers. Jason continues to be a resource that I count on not only from a development perspective but also a trusted advisor for future development and the evolution of our technology platforms.
